I found an old Minolta 50mm prime lens in a bag in my basement a while ago. When I bought my dslr, I ordered an adapter ring so that you can attach it on this sweet lens. I never had to clean or get the lens refurbished and I gotta say the picture quality is awesome. It works great for macro photos and crushes the background like no ones buissness. It's sharpest at a 3.0 f-stop but it can go to 1.8. It feels well built and produces great shots, though macro is the only thing I'll use this for as the lens falls apart trying to take pictures of far away subjects. Its a very, very soft picture when the subject isn't right up next to me. But, can't complain, I got a free lens that takes amazing closeups and feels very sturdy.
